Sky Arts and Creation Station celebrate Portrait Artist of the Year

The Portrait Artist of the Year held a number of stages to the competition in London, Glasgow, Dublin, Cardiff and Paris. The Creation Station was invited to take part in the Glasgow leg of the competition.

On 21st July the fun filled Glasgow Festival in Kelvingrove Art Gallery hosted the Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year alongside offering free activities for all the family with caricatures, charcoal sketches and oil paintings and much more. Karen Carnson from The Creation Station Perth & Kinross ran fantastic children’s workshops creating mixed media portraits.

Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell hosted the Glasgow leg where the 21 artists created portraits of the stars John Hannah (A Touch of Cloth), Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones’ Sansa Stark), and Paralympian Michael Kerr.

The show is being broadcasted over the next few days starting in London tomorrow at 6am on Sky Arts HD. The Glasgow leg will be on Sunday 10th November at 6pm. So watch out for Creation Station.
